Robert Harris is now providing some of his training programs in partnership with the University of Toronto, School of Continuing Studies. This enables people to take his training programs through public offerings. Our first University of Toronto course on Powerful Negotiating Skills will be offered on Saturday June 13 and June 20 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The cost to attend this program is $499.00.

The second printing of Change Leadership: Inform, Involve, Ignite! will be available in late 2008.

The highly successful book by author Robert Harris provides illustrations, models, tools and templates to succeed at organizational change.  It particularly focuses on the “people” challenges inherent in any change situation.  Change Leadership: Inform, Involve, Ignite! provides chapters on how to help middle managers succeed at change, how to communicate difficult news in a way that fosters understanding and buy-in, and how to overcome resistance and create a critical mass of energy and momentum necessary for change to succeed.

Robert Harris Resources delivered 2 presentations on Change Leadership at this year’s Leadership Summits.  The week long event starting October 23rd was attended by executives and managers of Service Ontario, Ontario Government.

Robert Harris made the presentations focused on how the organization can get internal and external commitment to the major restructuring in order to provide Ontario citizens with one-stop shopping.

Service Ontario is in the throes of significant transformation as the Ontario Government restructures how it can most effectively provide services to meet citizen’s needs.    This change required employees to relocate from their existing ministries to a centralized body.   New leadership was brought in from outside the OPS to help with the transformation.   Harris presented a number of tools and techniques to effect large-scale change including his innovative “strategic influencing 4-box model”.

Robert Harris Resources was honoured to present a keynote address for the Association of Municipalities of Ontario. Speaker Robert Harris deliverd his message on how to reconcile differences and get buy-in to change at the annual event.

Over 1000 attendees listened to Robert’s keynote on how to overcome differences and find agreement to difficult issues.   Robert used real municipal examples from some of his client experiences to demonstrate a process he uses to assist groups who are polarized and getting stuck in conflict.   The feedback from this event, largely attended by mayors and councilors, was very positive and it was our pleasure to be part of this important conference event.
